This unique ten day Canadian Rail Tour is sponsored by the American Association of Railroaders, Inc. We are going for the rail journey and the scenery. Some Canadian rail tours start in Toronto and claim to be crossing Canada - but they have missed one fourth of the country!!!   We will start at the Atlantic Ocean and end at the Pacific, traversing five time zones and eight provinces.   There will be two nights in Halifax with optional maritime/historic sightseeing available. Other hotel nights will be in Toronto and Vancouver.

 

We will fly from St. Louis to Halifax, Nova Scotia on Tuesday, May 12, 2009.   We will board VIA's "Ocean" train, May 14, with an overnight sleeper to Montreal.   From there, on to Toronto aboard the day train traveling VIA 1, First Class.   Overnight in a downtown Toronto hotel.   On May 16, we board "The Canadian" for the four night run to Vancouver, featuring the Canadian Rockies.   Dome cars and meals in the dining car are included on this train.   Free time in Vancouver with an optional tour to Victoria.   On Thursday, May 21 we fly home to St. Louis.

 

We will have four nights in hotels and five nights in sleepers.

 

Severe cancellation penalties apply and you should seriously consider full travel-medical-cancellation insurance coverage.   Consult your own insurance agent or request a copy of the travel insurance brochure that we obtain through Standard Travel in St. Louis.

FARES

$3388 per person based on double occupancy

$4295 Private single room.

NOTE: While all services are FIRST CLASS a few train bedrooms may be de luxe and they will be given to the earliest reservations!

 

 

Air schedules and heavy rail patronage, limits us to 22 participants! Should we have more requests: extra space may become available but with a surcharge!
A six day tour (May 16-21) with the rail travel starting in Toronto may be available at the price of $2650 p.p. dbl., $2995 single.
